Dr. Linda Lemay had been a Family Practioner for 20 years
before she trained in medical acupuncture at the
Helms Medical Institute, affiliated with UCLA Medical School.
Originally obtaining her BA/MD degrees at Boston University,
she has practiced in a number of settings, including,
private practice, HMO, medical administration
and Indian Health Service.
Linda Lemay, M.D. has found the practice of medical acupuncture
to be highly rewarding as it allows her more time to spend with
patients, as well as, the satisfaction of helping their bodies and
minds to heal on a deeper level, without drugs or surgery.
Medical acupuncture is used to treat a variety of conditions
as defined by the WHO and NIH, including chronic pain, infertility,
gastrointestinal and respiratory ailments, any stress related
problem, to help with cancer treatment and facial rejuvenation.
Since acupuncture also has its roots in preventive care,
there is an opportunity to address problems in their very early
stages with the hope of preventing full-blown disease.
Dr. Lemay combines her Reiki Master training and Yoga Teacher
training to assist with her therapy, with excellent results. She
enjoys exploring alternative healing methods with her patients
and often refers to other practitioners at Avanti Healing Arts.
Linda Lemay, M.D. has a home office in Cazenovia and
also spends time at the Oneida Indian Nation Health Center and
the Syracuse Brick House, where she supervises acupuncture
services for those with substance abuse problems.
In her spare time, she's an avid yoga practitioner
and tennis player.
